When Game of Thrones Season 8 premiered in April 2019, the excitement amongst the fans skyrocketed wondering 'What is going to be the end?' However, to their despair, the ending turns out to be a disappointment and 'Not Upto The Mark' for many. Many people even said that they were expecting a mind-boggling, game-changing end of the most loved shows of all time, but, it was just too plain and simple.

DaenerysTargaryen died, Jon Snow took an exile and went beyond the wall, Arya Stark went back to her hunt, Sansa Stark became the 'Queen of the North', and Bran Stark became the 'King of Seven Kingdoms.' This is how Season 8 of Game of Thrones ended, leaving the fandom highly disappointed. One of the reasons this happened is because the author of the book "A Song of Ice and Fire" on which the show is based, has still not decided the ending.

Yes, there is still a hope left! If you are an ardent fan of this series and have read the books, there is still a fire left in the books. As per the latest conversation, George R.R Martin revealed that two books are in writing and the end is going to be beyond your imagination.

"People know an ending—but not the ending," Martin said. "The makers of the TV show had overtaken me, which I didn't expect."

Ahead of the season end, the more Martin started speaking of not ending the books before the season, the more Weiss and Benioff spoke openly about the different endings. Guilty of having a tough time with deadlines, Martin called himself a 'Gardener and an Architect' who doesn't map out the character arc and plot trajectory ahead of time for the sake of ending. Taking his time, Martin revealed that he would have approximately 3000 Manuscripts to complete the story of 'A Song of Ice and Fire' in his two upcoming books.

Post the season finale last May, Martin took his blog to assure the fans that the book's ending is going to be different. He said: "The same ending as the show? Different? Well… yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes."

Currently, George R.R Martin is also developing the prequel series of GOT, "House of the Dragons" so, to know what exactly happened in the seven kingdoms, we may have to wait for the two 'Thrones' Novels a little more.
